About Jangsusam

Let me introduce you to Jangsusam Restaurant, a cozy samgyetang spot tucked into Suyeong-gu, Busan, where comfort food and local energy meet in a way that feels instantly familiar. Known simply as Jangsusam to regulars, this place focuses on the kind of Korean meals you come back to when you want something warming, filling, and honest, especially on days when the city feels nonstop. The atmosphere leans traditional without trying too hard, giving off that classic samgyetang restaurant vibe where the focus stays on the food and the people sharing it. Located at 7 Suyeongseong-ro 3beon-gil, Jangsusam is easy to reach and fits naturally into the neighborhood, making it a convenient dine-in option whether you are a local or just exploring Busan beyond the usual tourist routes. Inside, the mood is relaxed and unpretentious, the kind of place where you can take your time, chat comfortably, and enjoy a hot bowl without feeling rushed. The menu centers around nourishing Korean flavors, and while the food takes the spotlight, the availability of beer and other alcohol adds a casual, after-work appeal that suits group meals or laid-back evenings. What really stands out is how approachable everything feels, from the service style to the overall pacing of the meal, which makes first-time visitors feel at ease right away. Jangsusam works well for solo diners craving a quiet, satisfying meal, yet it also adapts easily to small gatherings looking for something hearty and familiar. If you enjoy restaurants that value consistency, warmth, and straightforward flavors over trends, Jangsusam fits naturally into that category and reflects the everyday dining culture Busan does so well. It is the kind of spot people recommend quietly, not because it is flashy, but because it delivers a dependable experience that feels grounded and local every single visit there.

The lady who owns the restaurant was so friendly and welcoming She kindly explained the best way to enjoy the dish, and her warm hospitality truly elevated the whole dining experience. The chicken was incredibly tender and the broth was fragrant and delicious. The side dishes complemented the meal perfectly. Truly a fantastic and filling meal. I can’t recommend this place enough - if you’re in Busan, you have to come here! A special thank you again to the lovely owner, who even gave me an umbrella because it was raining - such a thoughtful and kind gesture - made my trip to South Korea that much more special

We first visited this restaurant in 2019 and came back again in 2025. The owner is as friendly as ever and even took the time to teach us how to eat samgyetang properly. Because of this place, Busan will always be in my memories as a city with warm and welcoming people. The side dishes are very generous, and the food tastes comforting, just like home-cooked meals. Highly recommended.

Very nice homemade samgyetang. Second time here and it’s as good as the first time. Specially came all the way by bus 45min, totally no regrets and worth the travel. My friend who doesn’t like samgyetang and was so surprised on how good it tasted. Owner is super friendly and explained very clearly how to eat, many side dishes, fruits included and even have coffee once we finished. Love the ginseng wine

Fantastic service and the owner patiently showed us the correct way to enjoy the samgyetang. The ginseng chicken soup had so much nourishment and home made quality in it that it feels like a private dinner with grandma. Highly recommended for one of a kind experience of a high value Korean meal that only cost KRW 17,000 with very fresh banchans served.

This gem is not far away from Centum City and slighty off the main road. They specialised in ginseng chicken soup and the meat is so tender that it just falls off from the bones. Lady boss is super nice and friendly, she taught us how to eat the dish (and side dish) properly.

A very authentic place to try ginseng chicken soup! The seating area is clean, cozy, and traditional. The owner is very kind and patient, showing me how to enjoy the dishes with different sauces. The soup tastes amazing, I especially love the rice, which is creamy and flavorful. They also serve ginseng wine, and you can even find a whole ginseng in your soup. A lovely experience, highly recommended!

Really the best Samgyetang in Busan! We went there on a Saturday night and there were not a lot of people. The meal started off with a wide selection of homemade kimchi and bancham. We also enjoyed ginseng tonic, handcrafted by the owner with fresh ginseng. We ordered their mung bean ginseng chicken and original ginseng chicken. The soup was amazingly refreshing and the portion was generous. The small whole chicken was stuffed with glutinous rice. The ajumma taught us how to enjoy the chicken to its fullest. To wrap it up, they served us coffee. On the way out, the ajumma gave us each a large handful of ginseng candy. Throughout the meal, the ajumma was very kindly and offered to take many photos for us. This restaurant is not only about food, but also service!
